You definitely can be! Everyone's eating disorder is a little bit different, and yours is real and valid even if it doesn't fit the classic mold of an eating disorder. Many people also go through cycles of restriction followed by fairly normal eating, and many of the people struggling with a cycle like that feel that they aren't 'bad enough' to receive support or treatment. But eating normally some of the time doesn't make the time when you can't eat normally healthy or okay. It's still a problem, and it's still deserving of support and treatment.
Thank you for your question! It's a very common one. There is a common misconception that anorexia is characterized only by self-starvation. This, however, is not the case. Those who suffer from anorexia nervosa may eat "normally" at certain times. The same way somebody with bulimia may not always purge after eating. Anorexia is also characterized by an obsession over weight, constant thoughts about food (such as dwelling regularly throughout the day on what you've eaten so far and what you plan to eat), warped body image, as well as other symptoms that vary among sufferers. Addition, there are also "combination" eating disorders of sorts, such as binge-purge anorexia, which is characterized by episodes of binging, followed by a period of starvation and purging. As you know, Anorexia nervosa is an eating disorder characterized by food restriction, *odd eating* habits or rituals, obsession with having a thin figure, and an irrational fear of weight gain. It is accompanied by a distorted body self-perception, and typically involves excessive weight loss. (wiki's definition) If you fall within majority of the aforementioned, this is something you should not overlook and seek professional help for. Failure to do so might even lead to severe problems to your health, this would include the ever-so painful stomach ulcer. I've experienced this and it was terrible having someone watch me over my meals. I sincerely hope that nobody ever has to ever go through that. There are several methods of achieving the body you want healthily, please do not harm your body in the process of it. Seek help, for your well-being.
The pyscological/medical deffinition is a bmi of 15 or under. Anything else would be considered EDNOS.
You are considered anorexic if you're intentionally underweight, afraid of gaining weight and have a body image disturbance; So even if you eat "normally" (=conventional amounts of food) sometimes and still meet these criteria, you're very likely to be considered anorexic.
Anorexia, and eating disorders are very broad. The body needs food to survive so it is completely normal to have food, even as an anorexic. Food is a basic human need.
Since the normal behaviour is occasional ,it is still a medical condition!(anorexia-obsessively reducing food intake for weight loss).
If your eating habits are putting you in any sort of danger, then yes, be yourself to love yourself.
It depends how many days you fast for or starve. Sometime it is not anorexis but it all depends on your situation
