Eating disorders don't depend on size, weight or appearance - it's all about mindset. Some people can have abnormal feelings or emotions towards food but will still act normally around it. Others may have abnormal actions or behaviours towards food as well as a bad mindset. Some people are inconsistent and can display symptoms of multiple eating disorders, and can bounce from abnormal to normal and back to abnormal habits. It all depends on the person. The 4 main eating disorders are: Anorexia, Bulima, Binge-Eating and EDNOS

I'm not qualified to diagnose, but it depends on which eating disorder you think you have. If Anorexia, pick up a piece of food and just look at it. If you have the courage to take a bite, do so. If you're able to finish whatever you took, without throwing it up, you probably don't have Anorexia. That's just an example, but it did help me when I was questioning.

The definition of an eating disorder is any of a range of psychological disorders characterized by abnormal or disturbed eating habits. This includes under-eating, such as anorexia nervosa, and over-eating, such as binge-eating disorder. If you find that you either are eating less than three meals a day on purpose or that you are binging repeatedly and seemingly uncontrollably, then you may have an eating disorder.

Eating disorder isn't a size or a weight, it is all about how you feel about food and eating. If you enjoy your meals but eat few, it's ok as long as you're healthy. But if you eat few or feel guilty while eating, then you may have to consider things differently and to ask yourself what kind of eating disorder you're realy facing, then you'll be able to find help and solutions. But do not panic, it is not because someonee called you "anorexic" because you're thin or eat few that you realy are, it realy depends on how you feel about your body and your relation to food. :)

A disorder is characterized by one's inability to follow through with normal, day to day activities. If eating or food in general causes such 'dis-order' or chaos, then it is likely you may have an eating disorder.

You know when you have an eating disorder when you begin to severely restrict eating, see your body in a way that is not proportional to weight, and tend to be generally unhappy. If you do have an eating disorder, please get help right away. It is a serious matter, and trusted adults will put you in the hands of people who care about you and your wellbeing. Lots of love, Kaitlyn

The best question to ask your self is: Do I feel guilt after eating? If you do then you can look into depth to know exactly whether you have an eating disorder

Are you eating less or more than average? Are you binge eating and vomitting? Are you not eating at all? Ask a doctor if you have any questions on any of this.
