I have been through a lot in life too, which helps me to be able to empathize with situations, thoughts and feelings that we have. Sometimes, it's not easy just being human.

Try writing out everything you want to say before you say it. Work it all out on a piece of paper until you feel that you've written everything you want to say, how you want to say it. Re-read and go over it a few times, then go on to tell your family. It will help sort everything out in your mind, and it will aid you in saying everything you want to say. Going over the paper will also help to calm you down and make the experience seem less daunting. I really hope this helps, and have a nice day :)
