How do you help someone who is depressed or someone who has mental health problems? I strive to help my friends but I always mess up, the general ways people usually tell you to follow don’t work

It can sometimes be really hard helping friends who struggle with their mental health. Remember it isn't your job to solve their issues, but instead just to be there to offer support when they need it. Being a good friend is the best help you can give someone struggling with their mental health! Let them know you are there for them and give them the space to talk. Check in with them when you can and try to reassure them that things will get better. If you become seriously concerned about someone's wellbeing, it is always best to report this to someone who can help further.

I want to tell you that I am extremely proud of you right now. It must be hard to help your friends, especially if you have never been through the experiences they have experienced. You can help them by giving them space, giving space is very important because usually people have a lot on their mind so without any thought they have a chance of getting irritated. And mostly understand your friends and what they are going through. I also suggest you let them know that you are always there for them, it gives reassurance and they know that you are there for them.
