I have a thyroid condition. Could that be the cause of my anxiety and depressing feelings, or have i just become like this? How did this even happen in that case?

I understand your situation right now , Hyperthyroidism can cause anxiety, irritability and mood swings, while hypothyroidism can cause mental slowing and memory problems as well as depression.
