From an introverts perspective, it almost always seems like extroverts have it easier in life. They're more outgoing, charismatic, confident, bubbly. In the world today, there are certain stereotypes which feed introverts into thinking that you HAVE to act this way, look this way, talk this way. Employers look for outgoing and confident leaders, companies, so do directors of movies and commercials.

You are right. Take for instance, presentations in front of large groups of people (an introvert may know their material well, but be too shy to present it). What about participation marks in class? Or the fact that the loudest voices are heard the most? Usually extroverts who tend to be more sociable, open and talkative have many friends and are capable of networking. What about social media where the most likes and followers are awarded to those who are able manipulate and capture the attention of their audience by being extroverted through any means necessary. In interviews, introverts often have to pretend to be over-confident individuals with good interpersonal skills. It is not that being extroverted nor introverted is bad. However, it is true that the world tends to award extroverted skills. That being said, it doesn't mean introverts cannot succeed or change the world. Some of the world's greatest scientists are introverts like Albert Einstein, Sir Isaac Newton and Nikola Tesla. All of these men were workaholics who chose to spend majority of their time locked away and alone in order to discover some of the world's greatest inventions. Rosa Parks was an introvert and described as timid and shy. Bill Gates was described as "quiet and bookish...unfazed by others’ opinions of him...an introvert". J.K Rowling, author of the Harry Potter series, is one of the most celebrated introverts. In fact, she was a single mom traveling alone when she thought of the idea for Harry Potter. She said that "I didn't have a pen that worked, and I was too shy to ask anybody if I could borrow one…I simply sat and thought, for four (delayed train) hours, while all the details bubbled up in my brain". My favourite successful introvert is director Tim Burton. He was fired from Disney for his awkward personality and weird animated drawings which differed greatly to his colourful colleagues. They even made him work in a secluded space from the other staff members. Today he has created beautiful movies like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, the Corpse Bride, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Big Fish and Alice in Wonderland.

A lot of the time (ex. when someone is employing) people can choose between people (ex. the people they're thinking of employing), and they tend to go for extroverts. Maybe the world is built for extroverts, the same as it is males, or more attractive people. You know? I don't know much, but from my perspective, it seems like some people have it harder for just being who they are.

The world seems to reward a lot of extroverts these days, with their fame and popularity and finding socialising so easy, but there are some great things that introverts can do, that extroverts can struggle with! As an introvert myself, I find a lot of interest in listening to other people who just need to vent. Introverts are the best people for that because they will pay attention and they will listen to you well! Just like every one of the listeners here in 7 cups! Introverts are also the best at caring for animals! They like having attention from those that are close to them. In my case, that would be my dog, who can be energetic sometimes, but she does get her sleep when she needs it! Remember, introverts aren’t shy, they just like being quiet, and that’s a good thing!

It is because extroverts are vocal and hence their voices are heard. The fact is this world is very accommodating and ensures that there is a balance maintained.
