How does one reconcile themselves with a sexual fetish attraction that they only associate with negative things, and is at odds with their life? Is it possible fetish attractions can be changed?

I'm guessing you don't have a lot of good experiences to counter the bad. Fetishes tend to be innate and not changable; however, they can be coped with. If it causes impairment in your life then you might want to dicuss it with a doctor.
It's not wrong to like something like that, although if it exceeds legal norms, it might be a good idea to change. Being into something abnormal isn't a bad thing and doesn't define who you are
