Unfortunately, a lot of society has decided what is and is not "normal." Many people hide parts of themselves that don't fit the expected mold. It's easy to feel like other people are great and happy, but many people feel like they can't be their "true self" in front of many people, if anyone at all.

ummm. YOU ARE! The only person who could disallow you anything is YOU. If you are feeling restricted by outside circumstances you can find a way to change those circumstances! We are here to help!

You are ALWAYS allowed to be who you are. You have every right to be yourself, whether others like it or not. No one can take that away from you, because it's your right as a human being. Don't let people discourage you just because you're different - everyone's different from each other, because they are who they are.

It has to do with sociocultural reasons, rules and conventions that should be put aside by now. If fact, even if there are many people who still live and think by those obsolete and totally unmotivated rules, there are also people who realize that everyone should be allowed to be themselves, because there's no reason why they shouldn't. The best way to achieve freedom and happiness is to surround yourself with that kind of people, the one who can open their mind. This includes both the LGBT community and supportive people in general. I can ensure there's many out there! Anf they can help you giving yourself a safe space to be who you are, and giving you the strength to deal with those who aren't supportive.

You don't have to conform to society's rules. Society will always determine what's 'normal' but there will always be people who do not fit this category. Surround yourself with a network of support and you'll get far. Don't let the opinions of others change your character.

You are allowed. You are blocking yourself. No matter what anyone tells you or says you can't do, no one can restrict your own actions.

Life can be cruel at times. When I hear this question I think of when my mom told me to take off my rainbow bracelet because she didn't want kids at school to make fun of me for being gay. It is important to stay true to who you are no matter how hard it can be at times.

You are allowed to be yourself. Some people might not accept you, but they don't really matter. Be yourself with confidence and pride, and people might even look up to you. Basically, be you and be happy. No one can stop you from that.

sometimes people are afraid of what they don't understand, and they would rather be comfortable than unsure... i believe in expressing ones self, try and make them understand you...

Because others have other lives. Others live in other circumstances. I only have the circumstances i was born in or i am living through at the moment. Eventhough i am not allowed to be who i am, i have to try and make the best out of my situation. I have to try to find a way to live with my problematic parents and i have to find a way to still be myself. This is the only option, eventhough life did not give me fair cicumstances at the beginning

Everyone is so different, and the sad reality is that we live in a world where uniformity and sameness is celebrated over diversity. What we can do, however, is fight back in the form of peaceful protest, education, and community care.

Because, I'm what they call "less than". Other people fall into the category "More Than". And since I am "less than", the "More thans" have the power to tell me what to do.

You are allowed to be who you are. You just think you're not, but you are. Believe me, honey. Everyone can be who they are. You just need a lot of courage.

I think its matter of human perception and opinions. Others meaning maybe your friends or family may have this idea of who they want you to be and act like. In their minds if you at this way you are acceptable but if you dont then you may be seen as a outcast or someone they don't want to be around around. But you should be around people who love you for you and not something they want you to be,

You may feel like you're not 100% allowed to be yourself but you are. No one is stoping you from being you and others from being theirselves as well. You matter and you are unique person. Your feelings are valid and I understand that you may not feel exactly like yourself but you can be you. And starting with me I'll gladly embrace whoever you decide to become. Being yourself is very important and is essential for you to life your life how you wish to. I wish you the best of luck in finding who you are. There may be some bumps in the road but you can get there.
