I can't tell you what others are going to do or not do. I can tell you that people should accept you for who you are, and that includes your sexual, romantic, gender identity. I know people that have changed their perspective and learn to accept others when they had the chance to experience it first hand. Many cases people are just ignorant about things and when educated they can be more accepting...sadly this is not always the case. But if you find that the people you have in your life at this point are not accepting you, please do reach out for support to those that will. There are communities online and sometimes local for LGBTQ+ people. If your orientation is a little less known (for example asexuality) there might still be online support groups and other options. Just remember: if you feel it, its valid and some will accept you for who you are

People have the capacity to change the way they think or behave and learn to accept you if they don't inherently do that, and there's always the possibility that they will. Unfortunately, there are also people out there who are so dead-set on their ways and beliefs that accepting LGBTQ+ issues and people will be incredibly difficult, or not possible in a present environment. That doesn't mean you should give up or feel bad or ashamed about who you are as a person, though--your orientation is a big part of who you are, but it's not all that you are, and the people that love and support you can help you understand that. There will always be people who are willing to embrace you, and as social awareness of LGBTQ+ people grows, that net will widen. You are an amazing part of your community, and you deserve to be surrounded by people that support, love and accept you.

YES, YES, YES! It can be really hard at first for some people to accept that you are part of the LGBTQ community, but the people who really do love you and care about your true happiness will accept and love you. *hugs*

Yes they will learn to accept you as a LGBTQ member. Maybe in the beginning it will be a little challenging for some of them to deal with the situation. However, saying the truth is a big proof of respect. Respect your family and friends enough to give them the truth. The way they will deal with their feelings is all about them, not about you. That is what I did in the past. Some people rejected me at first but they certainly changed their minds over te time.

I hope that they will. In this day and age people are growing more and more accepting of LGBTQ people. Just turn on the news and you will see stories such as Ireland's recent referendum, or Caitlyn Jenner's bravery. Sure, there will be people who wont accept you. But those people don't need to be in your life. I hope you find a bunch of people who will love you for who you are.

There are gonna be people who judge you because of who you are, but luckily, there are also many inclusive people out there who understand that being LGBT is perfectly normal and will accept you. With time, you can surround yourself with supportive people and learn how to deal with intolerance through the awareness that their hate makes their own life sad, it doesn't have to do the same with you, because the people who truly matter and the ones who can look beyond prejudice.

It, ultimately, depends on the kind of people they are deep-down, really. When it comes to people learning about acceptance of sexualities there are many complex factors that can affect how they learn to deal with your sexuality as a whole. However, in the end, some people may not accept the fact you're a LGBTQ member as that's how they are - some just aren't comfortable to listen to a LGBTQ member. That doesn't mean there's anything wrong with you being a LGBTQ member - it's only personal preference and the most important thing is that you accept yourself.

People are unique, for good or bad. All of us have minds of our own, and there will be times when people will look down on you just for the fact of being LGBTQ and, as sad as it is, it is a reality I don't see will change soon. However, I can assure you that there will also be people that would accept you unconditionally, and that will help you embrace and grow on who you are. Seek out for those people and surround yourself with positive people and experiences

Some people will and some won't. This is simply a fact that we have to live with. You should just focus on being happy with who you are.

Yes! It may not seem like it but the world is changing. More and more people are becoming accepting of the LGBTQ+ community. My two closest friends grew up in very religious families but they were the most accepting of me when I finally came out to them! I remember they used to be against being LGBT+ when we were younger bc they were taught it wasn't right but as we grew up, they definitely learned that it's not wrong at all and are so open minded now.

Yes eventually. It took me a long time to accept myself as a member of the lgbtq community but I found that the more confident I became about myself and who I am the more people learned to accept me for who I am.

Whether not someone will learn to accept you for being an LGBT+ member depends on the person. You can never know for sure if someone is open to learning more about the community and your identity in the LGBT+ community. The best way to know for sure is to ask.

Hopefully friends and family will learn to accept you for you! However, it is possible that they might not. Those kind of people don't need to be an everyday part of your life. Your health and happiness are more important than someone who isn't truely a friend.

They will. They just need time, like the time you needed when you leart how to accept yourself. They will accept you if they really love you, dont worry.

Some people will, and if they do not, that is not a reflection on you but it is a reflection on them.

Different types of sexualities are slowly becoming accepted, mostly due to the media. People are being educated on certain types of sexuality; tackling one problem at a time. Here in the UK, they're focusing on gay rights which is a huge deal. More and more people are accepting them into society as they should and it's a simple matter of numbers. The 21st century has become pretty laid back about who people can love, which I think is great. One day, we will learn to live and let live.

People who don't accept you for being MOGAI aren't worth your time. You deserve to be around people who don't judge you. And We've got a great LGBTQ+ Chatroom.

Yes. When they see that there's no use in trying to change you and that holding a grudge against something they don't understand won't do them any good, they will most probably accept you as a LGBTQ member.

Yes, people will learn to accept you. This will take time as society move forward in their understanding of LGBTQ+ issues. The more you are happy with yourself, the more people will be happy to get to know you too.

Absolutely. As a member of this community, I can safely say that as time goes on it WILL get better. It may seem like a never ending nightmare at the moment, but it really does get better, really, never give up.

If someone is truly understanding, and cares about you, they will accept you no matter what. Be yourself and people will see that you're no different from them.
