I have been through a lot in life too, which helps me to be able to empathize with situations, thoughts and feelings that we have. Sometimes, it's not easy just being human.

if I am a freshman and I have a crush on a senior, then first of all I would realize that love doesn't see time and place and age. It happens when the thoughts and ideas match with a person. In this case, I would reach out to the senior and have a talk with him rather than engaging the third party people. It messes out things. Talking directly with the person involved maintains the transparency and helps build a self-esteemed path ahead. If the answer comes in affirmative, well and good and if its negative, I would work towards moving on while being satisfied that I talked in first person to him/her.
