Sometimes I feel like I really want to be a different gender, and that I was born the wrong way (and often feel sad about it)-but other times I feel completely fine and okay with being me. Am I okay?

It is okay to feel like that. Only yourself can find the answers about what you are, but we can suggest some leads to search. First, let's set up that you don't have to suffer constantly for your pain to be real. That maybe seems obvious but sometimes it's good to remind it to yourself. Second, sometimes you just don't think about it, you have other things in mind too :) that happen to me, that happen to other trans people too, especially when being called and piercieved by our assigned gender is usual. Third, gender can be fluid, some people experience more than one gender and that's okay too. So whatever you end up indentifying too, you are okay, listen to yourself and stay well !

YES!! you are completely fine!! it is absolutely normal to question yourself! i went through something similar to that where i questioned if i was a girl or a guy (and i still am questioning myself sometimes). and i still identify as a girl, but you mate identify as something other than your birth gender, which is normal. of even if you don't, that's okay too. it's normal to doubt yourself in ways like that, and to be curious if you might be a different gender. in fact, you might not apply to a gender at all. you could be gender neutral, which is normal too. it just means you don't feel like you have a gender. it is 100% normal to feel unsure about your gender or who you are, just know you aren't alone!
