Developing feelings for a friend can be a confusing, frustrating, and all-around hard thing to deal with. On one hand, you may want to stay friends and have the feelings go away. You may think, "I don't want to ruin our relationship", or, "I don't want to put our friendship at risk by confessing my feelings!" Keeping these feelings bottled up may lead to resentment and lead you to start to be mad for no reason towards that person or others. You want them to know how you feel but you don't want things to change! On the other hand, telling them may lead to what you have been dreaming of. A lot of couples start out as best friends. This may not happen with every case, though. Taking the dive may be worth it for some people. If you want to do neither of those, simply talking about it with them, or distancing yourself for a while maybe the answer. Talking out you feelings with them may give you closure. Separating yourself for a while may help lessen those feelings by not being around them so much. I hope this helps at least one person!
