I think the best thing to do is to just ask your partner straight up if there is something going on with him or between the two. Usually people will respond with an answer when you ask them directly with no animosity. If you approach this situation while still being upset it will be harder for your partner to want to respond. So just remember to give him a chance to speak his peace and if he is not happy in the relationship then it might be time to reevaluate the situation. Some things can be worked on and some cant so you just have to figure out what you both are willing to compromise on.
