I have a friend who often Skypes me when she's feeling a really strong urge to self-harm, and I'm not entirely sure how to help her, especially when she already has a razor. What tips can I offer?

I used to be the same person as her a long time ago and I can tell you that the thing that probably helped me the most was having someone who could distract me - talk to me about all sorts of things that would make me forget why I was gonna self-harm in the first place and that I was planning on self-harming at all. I'd suggest picking up topics like "Does God exist?", "Do aliens exist?", "What is our purpose as humans?" "What do u think about religion?" and all other sorts of philosophical questions that would make her get deep into the conversation. Of course, please try to stay away of any topics that could be thriggering for her
