This is a very complex question! Abuse at any age (whether it's 1 month old, 1 year old, 10 years old, 100 years old!) can have an impact on you. The impact that it has on you can vary depending on different factors like how much support you have around you, what the abuse was and your own skills/experience. For such a young age though (especially birth to two years) people are incredibly vulnerable; because they have not developed any security, attachment or skills to know how to cope with abuse. One of the biggest impacts that it can have is trauma; and what this looks like can vary from person to person. If you are eight months you are not likely to remember it, but it's likely that it could have a big impact on your moods and relationships with others. Some people find it incredibly hard to connect with others, build trust or to feel a sense of safety and security.
