It is normal to have feeling of purposelessness. This is because we all have these far-fetched ideas in our mind of what we want to be in life. We dream of being rich, famous, in love, happy, etc. Such aspirations are not wrong. What ends up being the problem is when we fail to reach these pre-defined goals in our life that we've created. It would be a good idea to focus on all the positive energy that you've brought into this world. I can be as small a thing as the household chores that you do for a family member or the ear that you lend to a friend to hear out his/her problems. It can be the small donation you make to the charity home or the general smile that you have on your face, in spite of all the things you feel aren't going right. Learn to accept that your purpose is far greater than material things.. Your purpose is to make someone smile.. Even if that's for a little while.. If you have ever been able to do that, you have purpose in life.

Every one has worth and identifying our worth is the person we are inside, Worth doesn't impact what we can do - our value and worth are in that we are here and who we are inside. Purpose is what we want to know to figure out what to do with our lives. Sometimes this is slow to figure out because we've had to overcome a lot of challenges such as chemical imbalances in our body that impact our mental health, situational issues that impact thinking, coping, physical and mental health. Like worth, everyone has a purpose - even if small. Some of us have a purpose in being behind the scenes, which some of have purpose that are out in front. But the bottom line of this question I think, is that we are "feeling" and a lot of times feelings lie. Feelings can be based on past messages inside, but not based in the truth about us. For example, someone who is medically unable to work, may feel like they have no purpose. But they do have a purpose. They may be an encouragement to their friends, they may come here and be a listener 1-1 or be in the forums or chat to help uplift and listen in different ways. That is a purpose - to life people up. Some for right now, their purpose is to work through the issues they are dealing with such as depression or trauma or even start up businesses. Try not to listen to the "feelings" but look at the facts of your life... you offer more that could be your primary purpose and not even recognize it.

Lots of people feel as if they have no purpose in life, but that is never true. Everyone is put on this earth for a reason. You're born, raised, you survived through your best and worst days, any day you thought you wouldn't survive, you did. Everyone has a purpose. Sometimes it's just harder to find than others.

Maybe due to social, family, or school problems that are going on in your life currently right now...

You may have not found your purpose, everyone has a purpose - it's what gives them value and worth. However not all have the same purpose, and not all will find that purpose in the same place. You may have to get creative and start looking in new areas to find that purpose or feeling of fulfilment

Feeling like you have no purpose might be a problem you have with other people and things that you do. Maybe you haven't found the right people to be around or the right thing to do. If you find the right people, they will give you a purpose and so will doing things that you like and are good at. Even without those things, you still have a purpose. Don't let others define you.

Most people find purpose in things they enjoy or things that they value. However, if you find yourself unable to feel enjoyment or self-worth, that could be a sign of depression or other underlying mental illness. Do you often feel worthless even though others tell you otherwise? Do you lack enjoyment in things you used to enjoy? If you answered yes, you could be dealing with depression, anxiety, or other similar issues. If it's merely that you just haven't found what makes you feel good, it may be worth trying some new things. High school and college are prime times to explore different interests through academic classes and extra-curricular activities. That being said, adulthood doesn't lack for opportunities to explore new things, either. Try not to be afraid of trying new things and practice techniques to manage anxiety if you are really nervous.

Negative thoughts can sometimes take over our minds when we least expect it. When you start feeling like you have no purpose in life, start thinking of all of your goals. They can give you hope!

Sometimes we feel lost and there's no problem with that. Volunteering can help give you a purpose. I know for me it has. Also, sometimes it takes a while to figure out what we really want to do. Life is a journey...

everyone has a purpose but its up to you to find it. don't sit around doing nothing or feeling sorry for yourself. go outside and make yourself have a person!! go make someone smile, go serve. i have never once served someone and not felt happy about it. it could be as simple as sending a text to a friends letting them know how special they are to you!
