Lindsay Simon, LMFT

Marriage & Family Therapist

About

I am glad you are here and taking the first steps to start to heal as reaching out for help is a brave act and takes strength to just get here.  I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and have been helping clients heal from various mental, emotional, social and relationship problems for over 10 years.  My training at UCSD Family Medical Center in a Collaborative Care Center allowed me the unique training of working collaboratively with other practitioners to not only be trained in the most up to date, evidence-based treatments for clients, but also the importance of looking at the client from a holistic perspective.  I work collaboratively with my clients to help discover what the best fit and interventions are for them based on their previous life experiences, personality, and current situation.  From my experience, there is no one intervention that is the solution to any problem.  Through working together over time we can discover what are the various ways in which I can help guide you to finding your own way through life in the most healing and healthiest way that you would like to live.  As a therapist, I meet my client where they are at, and help guide them step by step towards their goals using my expertise, knowledge and experience.  At times this may look like validating your experience, assisting you in identifying and sharing your emotional experience, identifying and challenging unhelpful thoughts, introducing new coping skills to try, referral recommendations, or may look more like identifying and using the strengths you already possess. I intive you to reach out and see if I can help you on your journey.

Very helpful and resourceful
Very good listener, and excellent at giving advice. She takes the scientific approach and explains why certain steps are a good idea without me feeling like I'm being talked down to. Lindsay got me out of a really scary place mentally and is guiding me on how to keep up with small steps to take care of both my body and mind.
Lindsay does a good job in pointing you to relavent info to read and helps you help yourself. She is a good listener, but expects you to do some work to help you find the answer which I like.
Very quick to respond, with honest insights and actions for healing.
So far things have been great. I realize it is a bit early to make a full assessment, but the therapist has been very helpful in my first few sessions.
