Counselor

About

I have been working as a counsellor for over 10 years, primarily online since 2015 and on 7 Cups since 2016. Through my practice I have worked with many clients however my primary specialties are young people, families and parenting, alcohol and other drugs misuse and abuse, mental health, trauma (particularly childhood trauma), grief and loss and cancer and chronic illness (including end of life care).

I like to create a space for clients where they feel comfortable and safe. I think this is vital in creating a partnershop for change with clients. The therapeutic space is the clients space, I am allowed to be there by the client and walk their journey to change with them. I see this as a great honour and do my best to respect my clients' autonomy, pace, needs and ways of working.

I am based in Sydney (NSW), Australia, but frequently work with people in other cities/states within Australia or other countries around the world. In fact the majority of my clients are in the US and I have been working in this way since 2016. For international clients wanting session work, we just need to make sure that we can find a time that suits both the client and myself for sessions.

An amazing therapist who I’ve had the pleasure of working with for almost three years now. She’s always listened to me despite the myriad of issues I’m facing and always provides the best counsel to help me.
She seems wonderful
Very active listener. Looking forward to growing our therapy relationship
Shareen is the bestest ever. If you have the opportunity to work with her, you won't regret it. She's an amazing to talk with. She actively listens, encourages good behaviors, and truly makes you feel welcomed and cared for. I could have asked for anyone better to help me through my troubles.
Only spoken with her for a few days, but she's been wonderful and just having someone to talk to that isn't directly involved with your life (i.e., spouse, friend, family, etc.) is so helpful when organizing your thoughts. I am really looking forward to tackling those big, personal issues and working through them together!
