I am a BACP accredited psychotherapist, counsellor and clinical supervisor with experience counselling people with a wide range of emotional and mental health issues in various settings in the public sector, sexual health organisations and psychiatric units.
Therapy is successful when there is a unique relationship between client and therapist. Working together I hope that we can develop new perspectives to your problem by supporting, affirming, as well as gently challenging you to become more self confident, self aware and independent
People may want therapy for various reasons; some people just need a safe space to talk about personal issues while some may need help with life changing decisions.
I work within a philosophical approach to therapy which deals with the human condition. By exploring life’s questions such as the search for meaning and not putting people into categories. I also encourage those working with me to face up to certain concerns of existence such as death, anxiety and meaninglessnes.
I focus on the client’s subjective experience and set aside biases and prejudices and assumptions. Simply put: I focus on the individual, however they want to identify without putting them in a box.
I have always lived and worked within multicultural environments which means that I am very experienced working with people of all backgrounds, sexual orientations and religions.
