Autism and Aspergers Hotlines and Resources

What is autism?

Autism is a developmental disability that effects the way people communicate and interact with others and how they experience the world around them. People with autism have difficulties interpreting peoples body language or things that people say which can be frustrating. Autism can make it difficult for people to make friends and express their emotions due to difficulties in communication.
Autism can make the world seem a confusing and overwhelming place to be. If you or someone you love has autism there are websites which can help you make sense of it and places you can go to for support, see below.
