More Information-

A serious developmental disorder that impairs the ability to communicate and interact.  More than 200,000 cases a year in the United States.  This is a chronic condition.  There is no cure.  It does require a medical diagnosis.  Wide range of severity of symptoms.  Early recognition, as well as therapies, may reduce symptoms and support development and learning.

 

Treatment-
There are many types of therapies to help with autism.  Some can be treated by a therapist, others with a counselor.  The counseling ranges from anger management to animal therapy.  Online therapy can help with speech.  Online counseling may be used if distance is an issue.  Active listening to all involved is much better than just having a listener.
