Polyamorous translates literally into "many loves". What this means is that one individual is in love with multiple people. But does this mean one is cheating on the others?
No. Not really, as long as the other people that individual is dating knows about it and accepts it.
The striped colors from top to bottom represent as so: blue is for the openness and honesty between all partners in the relationships, red is for love and passion, and black for solidarity with those who, though they are open and honest with all participants of their relationships, must hide those relationships from the outside world due to societal pressures. The gold Greek symbol in the flag is a lowercase pi, representing the first as the first letter of polyamory. The letter's gold color represents the value that we place on the emotional attachment to others, be the relationship friendly or romantic in nature, as opposed to merely primarily physical relationships.
