...See more I hope everyone is having a great day when they read this. Just a conversation starter, how many countries have you visited? How many do you want to visit? Where is your dream destination? Also, I have a TEFL certification. Just throwing that out there. Have a great day !

...See more Hi ~ I'm new here as of this morning.  I actually found this platform due to a negative experience I encountered today... following a series of negative experiences I've had regarding seeking counseling. Today's experience was disappointing. I had set up a new client portal with a new counseling office.  I had a virtual appointment scheduled for today at 10am. An hour before the appointment I still hadn't received the virtual appointment link. I sent a text to the prospective new counselor as this would have been our first appointment. I asked where I should look for the appointment link, as I hadn't received it yet.  I was not given a response.  I called the office and stated the situation. They confirmed the appointment for one hour later from when I was calling and said they usually send out their appointment link 15 min prior to the appointment, and that they would send a reminder to the counselor regarding the link and appointment. I waited patiently for the link at about quarter to our appointment. It never arrived. I called the office about 5 min after the appointment start time to let them know I would like to cancel and that I thought the counselors actions were unprofessional.   They claimed to have heard from the counselor just as we were on the phone and stated the counselor claimed she thought the appointment was in person.   I said I didn't believe that but even if she had thought that, she had received the text from me regarding the appointment and hour prior to the scheduled time and didn't respond.  She also had the reminder from her front desk regarding the link for the appointment and hour prior.  No mention or response at that time one hour prior to the appointment of her claiming she thought it was supposed to be in person ... So I set a healthy boundary and decided to not move forward with her at all.  I cancelled the appointment which would have been our initial session anyway as a result of this counselor actively choosing not to show up.   Id like to share that I am happy this misfortune took place as if it hadn't, I'd have not found 7cups.  I also would not have been receiving the best possible care or talk therapy as this counselor obviously didn't want to see me for whatever personal reason sbe had, and she as a counselor couldn't find the courage to cancel the session herself.   I hope this story helps someone remember that there is always a positive in any negative situation, as long as we always try and never give up hope.  My favorite quote is "in every crisis there is opportunity". I hope this story elps someone find positivity in a disappointing or negative situation.   Thanks for reading for anyone who took the time.Â
