7 Cups Academy Time Management Course
by Hope
Last post
April 7th
...See more Hi everyone! I hope you are doing well. Through our academy surveys and general community interactions, we have identified that most people feel like they can benefit from some form of time management training. The challenge with most time management techniques is that they do not train you to reflect on what really is important and schedule it in a sustainable way. We have found a book that deals with time management as part of your whole interrelated life and is in sync with your principles. I am talking about First Things First, a book by Stephen Covey [https://www.amazon.com/First-Things-Stephen-R-Covey/dp/0684802031]and comes highly recommended by @GlenM We have created a course based on the book. We have summarized the book and converted it into a growth path and quiz. Here is how you can take part! Step 1: Complete the first things first growth path [https://www.7cups.com/path/playlist/first-things-first-by-stephen-covey-under-construction/] Step 2: Implement the teachings of the growth path for a minimum of one week. You will need the practical application to pass the practical part of the quiz. Step 3: Revise the path content before completing the quiz. [https://docs.google.com/document/d/1BYJMAqzaAQ2lgInKpUAv6jODuqZdbAVRKDVyYdLus1U/edit]You can skip this part if you feel confident to pass without the revision. Step 4: Submit the time management course quiz. [https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfxm8jdvqi3wXzAfoHNia2G85NbSynVE0uSBga0oesXebX9_Q/viewform] S [https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfxm8jdvqi3wXzAfoHNia2G85NbSynVE0uSBga0oesXebX9_Q/viewform]tep 5: Let us know that you have completed the steps here! [https://www.7cups.com/forum/BuildingCommunityProgram_208/AcademyPrograms_2311/CelebrateCourseCompletionHere_280719/] The quiz will be processed within a week. All who successfully complete it by scoring at least 17/20 in theory and submitting practical components will receive a certificate and a badge. Note:  If you intend to use Artificial Intelligence tools to help you fulfill any of the course’s requirements, you are expected to adhere to our AI policy. You can read it here. ...See more Hi everyone! I hope you are doing well. It is common to have questions regarding your academy program journey. Here is how to get support! Respond to this thread with your question(s) and the program you are enrolled in. Remember, more information is better than less information. Provide context where needed so you can get speedy answers. Who can respond to the questions? Academy mentors, graduates, and even trainees if they are sure of the answer! Feel free to support each other and provide tips! Make sure to keep an eye on your notifications so you can check the thread for answers. You can expect an answer within 24-30 hours. Even if you are not from the mental health field, it gives you the opportunity to gain professional experience by working through a structured program, improving listening, communication, time management, and many such skills. What type of student would benefit from working with 7 Cups of Tea? Any student enrolled in a Social and Human Services program where a certain number of field placement or practicum hours are required to complete a certificate/degree can participate: Undergraduate programs in Health & Human Services, Psychology Graduate programs in Counseling, Clinical Psychology, Master of Social Work Ph.D. & Psy.D. programs Students who bring their life experience, academic skills, genuine passion for helping those in need and who also have aspirations of working in the behavioral health field, will likely find this work very rewarding. Will 7 Cups of Tea provide supervisors? 7 Cups of Tea is unable to provide supervisors at this time. Many of our interns request a local social worker or a faculty member to act as their supervisors. While this program is geared towards students, anyone with an enthusiasm to help others while learning about mental health is welcome to register. The internship certificate will add great value to any resume for a job or college application. Are teens eligible for this internship? Yes, we welcome teens to register for this internship. The minimum age to join the Listener side and Internship is 15. Teens can gain volunteer hours for school projects and other assignments by listening and providing support on 7 Cups. The internship certificate will mention the hours spent listening on one on one chats. What are the benefits of interning at 7 Cups of Tea? Further, develop active listening communication skills. Build therapeutic relationships with users/members of the site. Create a personal profile page that highlights your interests and future career goals. 7 Cups Academy Emails Information: Are you getting your academy emails?
by Hope

Monday
...See more Hi everyone, I hope you all are doing well. From time to time interns/trainees report not getting acceptance or other such emails from us. I am writing this post to clarify how to go about this. Firstly 95% of the time, the email sits in your spam. So please check spam before reaching out. You will find it there in most cases. If you want to prevent emails from going to spam then please check this article. [https://downtimemonkey.com/blog/how-to-whitelist-an-email-address-in-gmail.php] You can reach out to the admin or ambassador overseeing the program you applied for to get the email you need to white list (if you choose to do that). Or you can also just PM me and I will provide you the email you need to whitelist depending on the program you have applied for/enrolled in. Only do this step if you have an issue with emails going to spam, otherwise, there is no need. Now for the 5% who are not even finding the email in spam, please reach out to the admin/ambassador who sends acceptance emails for the program and provide a different email. We will forward the emails to your new email. It is worth noting that it is your responsibility to ensure that you are receiving the emails. If you do not get trial end or program end reminders because you have not been checking emails/reaching out if not getting them, then that will not be considered a valid excuse. Emails you can expect to receive: Acceptance email - sent 1-2 days before the start date Resource Emails - provides you with important links Important Dates email (only for internship) Two-week trial ending reminder - sent 3-4 days before your trial is set to end Last step/final eval reminder email - sent 1-2 weeks before your end date. Person in charge of acceptance emails for each program: 7 Cups Internship - Anusha [https://www.7cups.com/@Anusha] Content Development and Marketing - SoulfullyAbutterfly [https://www.7cups.com/@SoulfullyAbutterfly] Leadership Development - DreamTouch [https://www.7cups.com/@DreamTouch] Quality Listening Program - HealingTalk [https://www.7cups.com/@Healingtalk] This post is brought to you by the 7 Cups Academy Team, find out more information about the program here [https://www.7cups.com/academy/] Last updated on March 24, 2024 - Hope

Participate in member or listener group support rooms (members will only participate in member rooms, listeners have the choice to pick one side). * Listeners are required to have the sparkler or tiny chat badge. Sparkler is earned by sending 500 messages in member rooms and a tiny chat badge is earned by sending 500 messages in listener rooms. You only need one.  * Members need to earn the Group chatter badge (500 messages sent in member rooms) You can send these messages over some time, at your own pace and they will accumulate towards the badge. If you already have the badge, you have satisfied this requirement. But we do recommend that you spend some time practicing the knowledge acquired in this course.  3. Host 1-hour long session in the 7 Cups Academy Room.  * Choose your script from this document. [https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Jpq3EF5eSzqd-ffQ0FwrIKi23AZqcOmGoONkxv-Sd34/edit] If you wish to host on a topic not available, please contact Suryansh [https://www.7cups.com/@Suryansh]to inquire about the possibility of hosting on a topic you are interested in.  * Follow this guide [https://docs.google.com/document/d/1WqI_xMAoSd0bqe7dqdu17vPVr9HXISMNc6NvTDHogJE/edit?disco=AAAA-Z9LcMQ&usp_dm=true]to ensure you are hosting as per expectations.  * Book the 7 Cups Academy Room here [https://www.7cups.com/forum/academy/AcademySessions_2207/Bookthe7CupsAcademyRoomHere_326026/]to ensure your session does not clash with anyone else.  You are expected to have completed coursework before hosting the session.  The group chats you earn while hosting the session will be counted towards the required group participation badge if you have chosen to focus on member rooms.  4. Once all these requirements are met (steps 1-3), you can submit our course evaluation quiz. This is the last step. You need to score a minimum of 12/15. You can submit it again if you do not. We recommend you save your subjective questions' answers on a document to resubmit if need be.  📌Open Course Form Here [https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScojnpfb4dE0snBEzWc0k2am6VqPcEDeUet6_CC4sE_yb9lGQ/viewform] Course requirements summary in the recommended order.  * Review and participate in all aforementioned forum posts. * Acquire or has the sparkler (L), tiny chat (L) or group chatter (M) badge. (You need only one) * Host 1 hour long session in the 7 Cups Academy room choosing from the given list of scripts.  * Submit course quiz/evaluation form.  Thank you to @asilentobserver for assisting in the planning of this course and for creating the original group dynamics program on which this course is based.
