The Gratitude Project: List 3 Things That You Are Grateful For...
by LisaMeighanMScGMBPsS
Last post

...See more Hi there, Today we will learn a little more about gratitude and learn how to express this. Studies have shown that if you practice daily gratitude practice, it can make you feel happier and improve your health. What is Gratitude? Gratitude is the expression of appreciation for what one already has and not ones future desires or hopes. It is generated from within. This social emotion strengthens relationships, and its roots run deep in evolutionary history, and it stems from the survival value of helping others and being helped in return. Studies show that specific areas of the brain are involved in experiencing and expressing gratitude. Brain scans of people assigned a task that stimulates gratitude show lasting changes in the prefrontal cortex that heighten sensitivity to future experiences of gratitude, thus feeling happier and healthier. Please list 3 things that you are grateful for and share daily if you feel comfortable to do so!

...See more Hi everyone, Thank you for being here and getting involved in all of the events leading up to the big announcement. Thank you for taking the time to learn more about online therapy at 7 Cups. We often receive messages asking us how online therapy works at 7 Cups so I wanted to share more with you all and also highlight our new feature at 7 Cups which we are very excited to share with you all! What Happens During 7 Cups Online Therapy and Coaching? 7 Cups is an on-demand emotional support platform and a caring and thriving community of people who support one another. The 7 Cups Community has supported over 60 million people in emotional distress since 2013. The community is available globally in 189 countries and 140 languages. We provide 1:1 free support sessions with a trained listener, personalized growth paths to help you feel better, and online therapy with licensed therapists.  At 7 Cups we also provide online therapy with a licensed therapist. Online therapy is essentially the same as traditional therapy, except you do not have to wait to see your therapist and you’ll be connected with your therapist instantly.  As soon as you arrive in the dedicated room with your therapist at 7 Cups, you will have a set date and time to meet your therapist on an audio/video call as you will be able to view the therapist's availability. Some of you may prefer to only message your therapist and sign up for the Messaging Therapy plan which is $199 monthly and you’ll receive a thoughtful response each day to everything you have written. For those that prefer a real-time therapy experience, the Live Video and Audio Therapy plan will cost $359 per month for a 45-minute live therapy session with your therapist over audio/video each week.  Frequently you will check in to see how things are going and adjust the therapy goals (if necessary) moving forward. Your therapist will provide you with exercises to complete during this process for your personal growth. You will work on any mental health issues you are experiencing to develop coping skills that work for you. Online therapy and coaching at 7 Cups are tailored to your individual needs and preferences.  🌿We also have more exciting news and as part of our annual event, we are giving one member a complimentary month of online therapy! To enter the prize draw all you need to do is respond to this post. The winner will be selected at random and you will be notified on the 1st January 2024. 🌿 Things to Know about Online Therapy and Coaching at 7 Cups * Therapy is a journey, and you get what you put in. It takes time, dedication, and consistency to progress in therapy and your therapist will be there for you every step of the way * You can send a message to your therapist where and whenever you like  * Therapy at 7 Cups is an affordable alternative to many other online therapy options * You have the flexibility of whether you prefer to have text-based therapy or if you wish to receive therapy over an audio/video live session. If you wish to leave your camera off then this is entirely your choice and it is important you feel comfortable during your therapy sessions.   * Therapists respond via a written thorough message Monday - Friday 1-2 times per day on the Messaging Therapy plan and you can send unlimited messages to your therapist. * Therapists schedule a weekly 45-minute session with clients who are on the Live Video and Audio Therapy plan with messages in between if you send them a message. How Can I Find the Right Therapist at 7 Cups?  At 7 Cups, we realize the importance of finding a therapist that you feel is a good fit for you. Just like any relationship, it can take time to find the right therapist for you. We aim to make this process even easier for you which is why you are able to select your therapist.  * If you want to sign up for online therapy and coaching at 7 Cups, you can do so here [http://www.7cups.com/online-therapy].  *  Browse therapists here to find a clinician that meets your needs and preferences during online therapy  [https://www.7cups.com/therapists/] 🌻Please note: we will continue adding names to the list until the 31st so you still all have time to enter. The prize draw to enter for a free month of online therapy is only available on a member account. So keep commenting and we will add you to the list. If I have not responded to your post directly, it does not mean that you have not entered. All individuals who have commented will be entered. 🌻 From all of us here at 7 Cups, we wanted to say thank you for being here with us and getting involved in the exciting events to follow!  Feeling better starts with a single message!

...See more Do you tune into your own thoughts and feelings regularly, sort of like a mental and emotional checkup? Let's just try this for 3 minutes. *  Minute #1 First breathe in through the nose and when you feel full let the breath out through your mouth as if you are blowing on soup to cool it off. * Minute #2 Watch what is happening in your mind continuing to breathe.. * Minute #3 How much does observing your mind help you to feel okay about what is going on inside? ...See more I just brokeup with my bf its hard on me bcs its my first heartbreak for backstory it was because of many things main reason was i always ddint like the fact that he was friends with his ex even if it was 4 years ago and they are close friends we once had a argument about it and i asked him to choose between me and her but on this q of mine he called me dumb and stupid. He cldnt make a choice but later said me fast forward i was annoyed at him and i checked his texts and he sent a video of him playing cricket to her i had previously asked him to maintain boundaries i never said to not be friends but i did not understand the motive behind having to want to keep a close friends of any other girls or in general ur EX but he did the video he sent her and i asked him if he wld do it again and blah blah but he was justifying himself saying its a omce in 100 days and cld happen he told me i needed reassurance which is funny bcs he knew i needed it and i said “yes i do but u are not” and to that he gave his usual dry response okay he said i wasting his time by this whole conversation and i told him we shld breakup but i was trying to get answers out of him i even said if that stuff happened in future( him sending gids and pic of himself) i wouldnt feel happy and are u okay with that and he said “yea” this stuff just saddened me showing i wasnt cared of but now the hard part is he was a good person on the other side it was okly this one difference about me and him which was me not wanting him to be so close to his girl—-friends but yea i said lets breakup after this conversation and he said ”alright” he did not stop it bcs he said it was my decision and all that but yea i know better things will happen but it cld happen with him if he wanted to change that he said he wld but he didnt.

Social anxiety

...See more I have tried a lot of things to overcome so much shyness and I feel like I have given up. nothing works. In my class I don't have friends and when someone talks to me I don't know what to respond and I don't like that personality caused by my shyness, which I think is more of social anxiety. I'm really alone
I'm giving up, there's no point in trying anymore

...See more Oh Wednesday my teacher asked if I wanted to be in this special ed teacher's class next year and I was surprised, cause I thought I was going to be in a regular class next year, but he said if I'm not, would I want to be with either her or him. This made me upset, proves everything I've done, how far I came.... Meant absolutely nothing at the end and that I was never going to get out ot special ed, once I realized this my whole world fell apart, i didn't want to go to school for the rest of the week officially gave up trying... Which caused me to stay up late the other night and even cry, the school doesn't care... Maybe I should've dropped out. Not even getting my hair braided could make me forget what my teacher said that day, nothing could, nothing could take my mind off it. I was going so far, I had good grades, I finally made friends, I was starting to build my social skills, I joined the choir and the black student union, I was doing so well in my general Ed class which is debate, I just needed to participate a bit more in my special Ed homeroom and get off my phone and read more books both at home and at school... But that was all for nothing. The school doesn't care how well I do, the teachers don't care how well I do, I'll never amount to what kids in normal classes will amount to so what's the point in even trying?

...See more It’s common to have good days and bad days throughout your health  journey. For example, you may feel an onset of stress when you notice changes day-to-day due to the illness for which  you’ve been diagnosed, or you notice the illness progresses to another stage and you  start to undergo treatment. There are some things you can do to help yourself cope. Some emotions only last for a short time. It’s OK to be angry, sad or fearful, or wanting to cry, shout or withdraw occasionally. However, it’s not OK for these to continue all the time. Participation question: No matter whether it is you, a loved one or just someone you know, what do you believe is the most important attitude to have when one gets a positive diagnosis of an illness? Helpful Video: The power of positive thinking [https://youtu.be/H8gfamhlIZo?si=FvqKapE3_1PHFQ-p] Helpful Resources: https://www.mayoclinichealthsystem.org/hometown-health/speaking-of-health/8-tips-for-coping-with-a-serious-diagnosis [https://www.mayoclinichealthsystem.org/hometown-health/speaking-of-health/8-tips-for-coping-with-a-serious-diagnosis] Seeking Help  Mental stress can cause us not to be able to see the good things in life and lead to excessive rumination or worries which can result in serious health problems. If you have serious, long-term problems with negative thinking and feeling depressed, see your doctor or talk to a therapist if they are related to any mental challenges.  Are you looking for a therapist? 7 Cups has online, certified therapists with a paid option.
