Talk to someone online about Eating Disorders
Struggling with an eating disorder can be very challenging. You can feel like you are the only one who struggles with weight, how you look, eating too much, or eating too little. Nothing could be further from the truth; the National Institutes of Health suggests that 20% of people struggle with disordered eating. It is clearly related to the social pressure we all experience. In the past, prior to media saturation, we compared ourselves with the people that were immediately around us. Now, with 24/7 celebrity coverage, we compare ourselves with the most beautiful people. No wonders we feel bad about ourselves! To further complicate things, food is now marketed in such tricky ways that it is hard for us to relate to food in a healthy manner. Some of us eat too much whereas some of us eat too little. Overall, however, across many cultures it is now clear that many of us struggle with food. Talking to someone about your food struggles, eating disorder, or disordered eating can really help. Many of our listeners have overcome or are in the process of overcoming challenges with food. Reach out to us if you’d like to share what is on your heart. We are not interested in telling you what to do or controlling how much or how little you eat. We are simply here to listen and provide support to you.
