Bio

I was diagnosed with Bi-Polar Type II with attendant Anxiety Disorder in 2000. I have now worked, for a quarter century (in January 2026) with Psychologists, Doctors, Counselors and Therapists in an In-Patient, Out-Patient and private manner and along the way I have picked up a great deal of knowledge about myself, my condition and how to manage it. PLEASE NOTE: I am NOT a qualified professional, I am NOT a psychologist, counselor or therapist I am simply a man who has learned, over the course of many years, to combine medicine, counseling, group therapy and a partially holistic approach to combine into a useful shield and management strategy for my condition.

ANYONE whom may wish to can contact me and I will do my best to help you along your path to a better place.
Respectfully,
D.

When the force is unstoppable

...See more Good afternoon, I am a member by the name of DireWolf, I am also a "Listener" here at 7 Cups who operates under the name Wolf. I maintain two distinct entities so I can separate my needs from my duties and obligations. Briefly; I was diagnosed with Bi-Polar Type II disorder with attendant generalised Anxiety disorder back in 2000 and I have been fighting it ever since. Many mistakes, many losses, many disasters, some victories along the way. It's been a long hard road that's for sure. I have an issue that I have, to this point, been reluctant to bring up with my mental health care team. Namely a particular type of trigger that precipitates an extraordinarily strong reaction within me. Sound, sudden, sharp and unexpected sound - the sudden piercing play scream of a young child, a car horn suddenly going off at close proximity, an unexpected firework detonation in the vicinity, so on and so forth. When this happens, right out of left field I am hit by an avalanche of red-black fog and rage, pure, unadulterated fury. People are fond of saying, "when you feel it coming on", or "when you feel it rise up", or "when it happens" followed by all sorts of cognitive behavioural actions. The problem is I don't have any time at all to do anything about it. It is instantaneous, absolute, overwhelming and unstoppable. Does anyone else experience this? Is it a sign, that you are aware of, of Bi-Polar or an indication of something more underlying the Bi-Polar and anxiety? Thank you, in advance, for considering this message.

...See more Hmmm... any landing you can walk away from is a good landing right? Hi, new arrival here, Direwolf, as you can see! Def in the "over 50" bracket, Member in good standing at 7 Cups and qualified "Listener". Swings between quietly philosophical and manic in the main. Gets distracted easily by shiny things. Been around on 7 Cups for a bit, thought it about time I got my shaggy wolf-tail over to say hi. I hope everyone is as well as can be expected under the circumstances. Namaste, D.

Struggles, efforts and victories
General Support / by DireWolf62

...See more Good morning, I intend to make this a general support thread for people who are living life while managing, or doing their best to manage, a "mental health" condition or simply trying to deal/cope with life's stresses and demands. Briefly; I am a caucasian (white) adult male, originally from England/Australia, now residing in the United States of America. I have been managing life with Bi Polar Type II and attendant Anxiety Disorder since 2000, yes, a long road BUT it is a road that has seen struggles, effort on my part and MANY victories, no mater how big or small. I firmly believe that I can help, maybe only in some small way, you to achieve victories as well, even if  you think they are beyond you now. If there is one promise that I can make it is this; If I don't know the answer/s I will help you find them. Fell free to join me at the "round table", where ALL are equal and let's see if we can make things just a little easier and/or better for you. Namaste, D.
