With the air filled with joy and merriment, I wanted to create a space for us to share our thoughts, experiences, and feelings about this magical celebration. ------------------------- Background: Christmas, a widely celebrated holiday worldwide, holds cultural, religious, and social significance. It marks the birth of Jesus Christ and is a time when people come together to celebrate love, generosity, and the spirit of giving. Christmas is traditionally associated with festive decorations, gift exchanges, feasts, and spreading goodwill. However, it's essential to also acknowledge that not everyone celebrates Christmas, and people of various beliefs, including non-religious individuals, can partake in the festivities. The holiday is a reflection of the diversity of celebrations during this time of the year. ------------------------- Questions to Consider:  1) How do you generally feel about Christmas? Does your country or the place you come from celebrate the holiday? In the journey of healing from trauma, practicing gratitude can be a powerful, transformative tool. Let's take a moment to explore the importance of gratitude and how incorporating it into our lives can make a meaningful impact.  ------------------------- Understanding the Importance of Gratitude:  Gratitude is more than just a polite "thank you." It's a profound acknowledgment of the positive aspects of our lives, even in the face of challenges. When we intentionally focus on what we're thankful for, it shifts our perspective, fostering a sense of hope and resilience. For those navigating the complexities of trauma, embracing gratitude can be a beacon of light in the darkness. ------------------------- Suggestions for Gratitude Journaling Activities: 1) Three Good Things: Take a few minutes to jot down three things you're grateful for. They can be big or small, a moment or a feeling. This practice can help cultivate a habit of noticing and appreciating positive aspects of your life. 2) Note of Appreciation: Write a note or a few sentences addressing someone who has made a postitive impact on your life. This could be a friend, family member, therapist, or even yourself. Expressing gratitude not only strengthens connections but also reinforces positive emotions. 3) Sensory Appreciation: Engage your senses in your gratitude practice. Elaborate on a pleasant smell, a soothing sound, a beautiful sight, a comforting touch, or a delightful taste that you link to a moment of gratitude.  4) Gratitude Jar: Create a gratitude jar and fill it with notes highlighting moments of thankfulness. As we approach Halloween, I wanted to create a space for us to share our thoughts, experiences, and feelings about this holiday. ------------------------- Background: Halloween is a fun, festive holiday filled with costumes, candy, and spooky decorations that is especially popular in the United States and Canada. This holiday originated from an ancient Celtic festival, in which it was believed that on October 31st, the boundary between the living and the dead became blurred, so spirits could return to the earthly realm. As a result, people would light bonfires and wear costumes to ward off or appease spirits. This is not the entire story of Halloween, as it can be traced back to the Roman Festival of Feralia and other influences, and if you want to learn more, I highly encourage to watch about its history in the History channel. On another note, for some people, the sudden appearance of costumes, masks, and the overall atmosphere of Halloween can trigger various emotions and memories, and it's important to acknowledge those feelings and seek support in those situations. Moreover, it's essential to be aware that haunted houses can also perpetuate harmful stereotypes of mental illness by using the appearance of abandoned mental health facilities as themes for scares and entertainment.  ------------------------- Questions to Consider:  1) How do you generally feel about Halloween? ...See more Hello, my name is PeacePink, and you can call me Pink for short. I came to 7 Cups around a few years ago while I was in high school and hoping to gain more experience in the mental health field and improve my listening skills. I am currently majoring in psychology as a university student and hope to be a psychiatrist or neurosurgen one day, and I have a particular passion for the Trauma Support forum as I was diagnosed with severe PTSD with dissociative symptoms. I have undergone a long journey in working through these issues and am much happier now, so it is my passion to provide support to those who have also suffered traumatic events or experiences and wish to find someone who understands and that they can relate to. I love to draw, write, and read on the side and enjoy working in the hospital and research setting. As a PTSD/Trauma Support forum supporter, I hope to not only reply to posts that need a reply, but offer discussion about my own story and potential ways to heal from trauma experiences and be at peace. Omg by far the best listener I've ever talked to here! So understanding, thoughtful and I feel like she really cares about me. PeacePink has been the best listener I could possibly ask for. I came to her with a struggle I normally have a difficult time opening up about, but I quickly felt at ease with her. I feel truly cared about, as she is not only warm and empathetic, but also shows she is truly paying attention. Her responses are always detailed and well-thought out, and she asks great questions. She's also a reasonably fast responder and is great with checking in about scheduling, etc. All in all, she is a fantastic listener who is wise beyond her years, and I'm very grateful to have crossed paths with her.
She is the kindest person ive ever talked to. Last night I was really sad and I had no one to talk to about my issues with my personal life about my brother and my mom being bullies to me and she was there for me for an entire night basically. Shes so caring and makes me feel so appreciated when i talk to her about myself. She listned carefully to everything I had got to say and remembered all the little details about our conversation which is so so important and made me feel secure.

I have used 7 cups for a few months now and she is by the far the most understanding, supporting, and easy to connect-to listener I’ve ever encountered. She has a special gift to make you completely comfortable while chatting and know you can get any off your chest if necessary.
