I was first diagnosed with BPD in my mid 20s. They have this whole list of criteria and I checkmarked ✅️ this and that, and that box and that one there and this one over here, etc. 😂🤣 A lot of things starting making sense to me about why I feel the way I do, think the way I do, and act the way I do. It was "normal" for me as it's just been me... but to others, I guess, not so normal behavior. Still, in stead of being in denial about things, I decided to embrace it. It sounds sick to say but I actually pride myself on having BPD. Yea, I know... who really wants to have these things going on and struggle... but when I say pride myself, I'm strictly talking about my good that comes as a result of having BPD. Look, I'm a crazy Desiree. I get it, but I'm more than just what a doctor can check off about me. They can label me with BPD amongst other mental health problems, but I know none of it defines me. Anyway, want to know about my good? Ok great. 😉 Did you know it's because of my BPD that I love so deeply the way I do? Did you know that it's because of my BPD for why I'm such a passionate person? If you know me, you know that I'm full of love, passion, and creativity. I'm also empathetic, sympathetic, and resilient. It's because of past hurts and pains that allow me to be this way. It's those past hurts and pains that I've overcome that let me know just how strong I really am... even if inside and emotionally I'm struggling. I love these parts of me!!! With that said: Yup, that's me and I'm happy to be just the way I am. I love myself. 💜 Anyway, I wanted to give a big thanks to all of you who have been a great part of my journey here. Thanks y'all for caring for me, supporting me, loving me, and accepting me just as how I am. Xoxo. 🤗

I first came to 7 Cups back in 2018-- during which I was at a very low point in my life. As a stay at home mother, an introvert, and homebody I just wanted to do something outside of my kids. I wanted to do something for me again. I wanted to be productive and help people. In the past, I've volunteered many hours giving of myself... so donating my time was nothing new to me. But it was in my past and I missed this part of me. I wanted that part of me back and 7 Cups was a place I knew I could contribute to. Listening ended up becoming therapeutic to me despite my own mental health struggles and I was happy I had something to offer to someone else. For those of you who know me, you know I'm a "hopper". I've been a part of this team and that and even that one over there too 😂 but then I end up leaving or resigning. Why you ask? Because with anything I do, I have to have passion or I can't do it. I have no specific title or role, and that's ok because I'm Desiree and I just go where I think I have to offer. I truly believe I have something to offer here and I do believe I have made a difference. 💗 7 Cups has become a safe place for me to be and I've met many amazing people on my journey here. People I have truly grown to care about and love. It's these people (you) that keep me coming back. Because if I felt I had nothing to offer here or nothing to be apart of, then I wouldn't even bother showing up like I do. But I do-- for both you and me. With that said, I want to thank those of you who have pushed and inspired me to be better. And thank those of you who have literally impacted my listening journey in ways you can't even imagine. Y'all hold a place in my heart and I will always be grateful. 💜 I am truly happy to be apart of an online community that is filled with support, love, and kindness. ...See more November 6th marks a very special day. What makes this day so significant is it is the very day @Lou73 decided to volunteer and donate her time here on 7 Cups. All the way from her (former) role as a smile spreader for PAT to being a chatroom moderator, it goes without saying that Lou is truly an important leader here on the platform! 💙 For many of us, we know Lou through the many selfless hours she gives to running and hosting sharing circle. Because of the sessions she and the other amazing hosts participate in, members have a safe place to go to where they can seek support, encouragement, and love. 🩵 Lou truly gives so much of herself to helping others and because of this, she has impacted many people along the way. 🦋 🦋 🦋 🦋 🦋 🦋 ------------------------- Over time, it’s only natural that friendships bloom 🌸🌷🌹🌼🌻 and love grows. For 10 years, Lou has contributed so much to making 7 Cups a better place... and it would not be the same without her presence!
