With my roles as a community mentor leader, group support mentor, and chatroom moderator I will be focusing my efforts primarily on community teams, forums and group support activities.*** It's not a community without 'u'! About me: Others have described me as an empathetic individual who strives to be objective, motivational, and empowering. I do firmly believe that if you challenge yourself to look at a situation from a different angle you will see options you have overlooked, and that sometimes even unpalatable solutions need to be seen for what they are, possible solutions. I aim to offer a respectful and non-judgmental ear, keeping in mind that my personal values and beliefs are just that: Mine and need only apply to me/my life.  I am a member of the LGBTQ+ community, some of the labels I use, or have used, to describe(not define) myself include but are not limited to, lesbian, homoromantic asexual and demiromantic. While I am open to and accepting of all members of the LGBTQ+ community, I feel my personal experience makes me most suited to supporting those who relate to or don similar labels. Now entering my 40's I have had experiences with a variety of issues from early childhood to present. I have found this can enhance my natural ability to empathize while still offering alternate perspectives. I primarily provide support for and am most comfortable with topics I have indicated in my profile. There are certain topics that I do not take chats involving, namely drugs, alcohol, detailed discussion of sexual topics, or any which contravene the rules of 7 Cups. I welcome you to 7cups and hopefully you have just taken the first step in a direction you would like to go! I am an experienced listener as this has been an essential part of my work for several years. I am realistic in what I can do to help, and non-judgemental and sensitive in my approach  I have worked with people through many difficult times relating to a variety of life's issues and challenges - and I have also personal experience of some difficult life challenges and choices. I don't ever pretend I have all the answers though! But through talking and listening together, maybe I can help you reflect and talk more on whatever has brought you here, maybe from a different or wider perspective than you have so far seen, and maybe this will help you see your way forward a little more clearly. If my listening helps you to do that even in a small way, then perhaps you will feel more motivated, or positive, or re-assured, calmer or comforted - and that you will feel the time we will have shared has been worthwhile!
