...See more Hi, I'm a 16 year old that lives in Canada. My parents were abusive my entire life, to each other and to me. The abuse is not as bad as it used to be, my mother doesn't hit me that often anymore so my situation is better now. I have a 3 year old sister and I fear for her safety since my mother threatens to beat her up. I don't want my sister to experience the same thing I did. I recently called Kids Help Phone and they told me to call CPS but I don't have the best experience with authority since the teacher's at my school found out about my abuse several times and did nothing. First time was when I as around 6 and I went to school with a split lip when I was beaten up by my mother, a teacher found out about how it happened and called in my parents. Second time, I lived in an apartment building where my teacher lived above us. She probably heard shouting and crying, decided to check it out. When she came, I was sobbing in the corner of the room since I've been beaten by my mother for about an hour. She talked to my parents. Third time, my friend saw my mom slap me and she told my fourth grade teacher, who called my parents. In all those instances, I think my dad convinced them not to take me away. I once had social workers visit us, but I lied about my situation since my parents told me that my sister would be taken away. Either way, I don't trust the authority. What should I do? Call CPS or something else? What will happen once I call CPS? I just wanna protect my sister . . .
