Help! My girlfriend is gay and is having a hard time accepting it!

...See more My girlfriend and I have been together for almost a year and it has been a year filled with challenges! In beginning of last year after 23 years of marriage my girlfriend came out to her husband that she was gay and that she always has been and that was the major issue within their marriage. Other than that they had a good marriage, he is a kind and good man to her and they have 7 children together so this came as a shock to everyone. After coming out she knew she could no longer live that life and started seeking out the next step of her life, at 40 she had never even been allowed the thought that she was gay other than a few incidences that she passed as curiosity. Later in the year she met me, someone who has been openly gay a big portion of my life, no kids, divorced from a woman and I fell for her and she fell for me. Her family has disowned her calling us an abomination against God and that she is being decieved and turning from her faith. We are challenged daily because of all the negativity and undoneness she feels within herself. Sex is a challenge because there is desire and then immediate shame, the thoughts of a future are welcomed and then pushed out because you aren’t supposed to think like that, her emotions are high and everything inside of me wants to help her through this but I am at a loss. I have read I have talked to people but sadly cannot personally relate. I never lived a life where I didn’t know that being gay was okay, my family never turned against me, and sex was never a negative thing in my life. Words of advice please help me help her!!!!
