I feel so torn up inside…
Relationship Stress / by AffectionateSea714

...See more So this is a weird situation. I’m a newly wed, about 8-9 months in. My husband just got back from a trip to his parents house which is four hours away. I sadly couldn’t get off work to join him. He has been sort of weird ever since he got home. I tried to cuddle him in bed because I missed him very badly while he was gone, and I was really craving his warm embrace. He squirmed away from me, and acted like it was absolutely bothering the heck out of him. So I roll over and cry for the rest of the night. The next day he asks what’s wrong and I tell him, I really miss you, I feel sad, I feel like I really need some snuggles and to be close, and feel his embrace. The next night, it’s the same thing. I spent the night crying again. By the next morning, I’m over it, and I need answers. I ask him why he’s acting repulsed by touching me. I really had to pry and pry to get him to tell me the reason. He says, I love you, it’s not that I don’t want to show you affection, my skin and nerves are just tingling and burning. I’ve had this problem for a very long time, it never goes away. I have to take Tylenol just to sleep sometimes. So I’m like… dang, why didn’t you tell me? He said, I don’t know. So I said… being physically close to me hurts, that’s all it is? He said, yes that’s all. So I told him to go see a doctor. He’s going to asap. Now I’m having to deal with the new reality of, never having my needs for physical affection met. My heart is absolutely aching. It’s so hard to be next to him right now or even look at him without wanting to touch him. Physical touch is a very important part of how I feel loved and connected. I’m struggling so bad without it, especially since I still haven’t recovered from missing him and I need the support. I’m sleeping on the couch, not even because im mad or anything, I understand where he’s coming from. It just actually feels torturous being next to him right now. All I do is cry cry cry. I feel really bad, I wish this wasn’t so hard for me, but this was just so unexpected. Am I nuts for having such a hard time?
