Hello,
I am Alaya. 😊 Growing up I faced a lot of mental health issues. It all started when I developed an Eating Disorder called Anorexia Nervosa and soon I found myself dealing with depression, anxiety, panic attacks, and self-harm. Dealing with these disorders without any professional help in a society that doesn’t consider mental issues as real problems was really tough and made things worse. However, dealing with these disorders and recovering from them on my own made me realise how much need there is for a community that takes these issues seriously. I wanted to be a part of the change and be the listening ear for those who are struggling that I needed when I was in a bad state.
These experiences have made me pursue Psychology as a career. I have completed my Bachelors in the subject along with 10+ Certificate courses from universities all over the world such as Yale etc. All of these things have made me develop an understanding of how important it is to be an empathetic and patient listener. I’ve set the whole purpose of my life to help people. Thus, I’m here for anyone who needs to talk. I’ll try my best to help them in dealing with their issues and hopefully recover just like I did. 😊
