...See more Hi? I am a young adult, who's dad has taken drugs all of my life. Usually, this haven't had a big impact on me, because my parents are divorced and I rarely see him (I also have a Stepdad who I basically consider my father) Now, I've gotten into my first relationship with a boy, who think that I owe my dad an explanation for why I don't want to see him. This has led me to doubt myself, because I have spent so many years learning that I don't have to talk to my dad more than I can handle, and after how much he has hurt me, I don't think he deserves an explanation. But I don't know if I'm too harsh and my boyfriend is right, or if he just doesn't understand what it's like? (I'm sorry if this doesn't make sense or if I've written the wrong place)
