I'm having difficulty letting go

...See more I know its only been 3 weeks since my ex-girlfriend broke up with me (4 years) but the problem is I'm still clinging on to some hope that she'll be able to turn around. I just can't believe it. Just a month ago. It still seemed that everything was fine. We were having problems at the moment but didn't seem like there was any big issue. She was busy with her studies at university but I still felt that the amount of time we were spending together or her replies to my texts were still very little. I tried communicating that to her(not the first time) and this time she told me she wanted to break up and that she doesn't love me anymore. I can't help but feel hopeful that she's lying or she doesn't really feel that way. Or she's just overwhelmed. Now ever since she broke up with me we haven't talked at all and I'm starting to feel lost and desperate. I don't know if I should let go but I do know I don't want to. We've always been great friends even before the relationship. Losing her is so painful and I don't want to lose that 8 year friendship as well.. I don't know what to do..
