...See more There are many ways of setting boudaries and everyon masters its own if they are lucky... not everyone is in a situation where they feel comfortable to put boundaries. Which one is your style and more importantly, do you consider moving away from an uncomfortable situation a valid way of putting boundaries? Let's open a discussion :)

On fluidity

...See more After certain life experiences I have founf myself thinking about fluidity in sexual orientation. Allways thought it was a sset and fixed thing but I am now convinced it is not. I'm somehow facing disapproval by people regardless of sexual orientation. Very few people believed it's possible to change sexual orientation with age. I'll gladly listen to any opinion :)

Why is it so hard to build a community?
Community Challenges / by Aputik

...See more I've been craving a healthy community for a long time now and I don't understand why it is so difficult. What I see is groups of people with individual interests, pretending to have a collective goal. Therefore, the action is taken having one's own benefit while pretending we're all in it for a greater cause. That's why I keep getting frustrated more and more and I get exhausted.

On buildung a community

...See more Hi everyone, Lately I've bugged with a question in my head where I feel I could use some input/thoughts/ideas/doubts from all of you =) What is a community and how do you build one? (this really feels like the right place to be asking these questions!) For the last couple of years I felt like I had one in the new place I'm living but all of a sudden it has dropped. Since I live far from home and my family is spread all over the world it's hard to get this community feeling back. I red an article saying there are 4 ingredients to building up a community: - shared history (I guess time spent together doing meaningful things) - presence (being there, commitment, short term) - permanence (more of a personal commitment to help and ask for help in the long-term) - shared imagination (I belive that's sharing a common goal). As you may have notice I still have some doubts about what it all really means and how can this be paired up with a nomadic lifestyle I had until now. Also, these are all good intentions but what do you do with the bad apples that you inevitably find along the way? Big hughs!
