Bio
Hi lovely! I'm August. I am a teenager living in the United States of America. I speak English, and a bit of simple Spanish. (Scroll down for more info on me, my support, what I do provide and don't and some other things that will get you to know me!)
I have Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Somatic Symptoms Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Emetophobia (A fear of v*miting, classified under specific fears) that is extreme/debilitating in severity (on a scale from none, to mild, to moderate, to high, to severe, to debilitating) , and Major Depressive Disorder. I am in LOVE with mental health. I have read the DMS-5 purely out of interest. When I get to college, I hope to work to become a therapist for individuals. I study a lot about Anxiety Disorders, Somatic Disorders, and Emetophobia and other phobias related to Emetophobia.
I provide great help to people struggling with Panic Attacks, Anxiety, Depression, and ADHD. I usually don't provide support to people struggling with Addiction, Drug and Alcohol Abuse, Adoption and Foster Care, BPD, Cancer, Financial Stress, Personality Disorders, and Work Stress, due to lack of knowledge, but I will take gladly give support with the fact that I don't know a lot about those topics in mind. I don't talk about Women's and Men's issues, Sexual Health, Spirituality, and Perinatal Mood Disorder, because I don't wish to talk about it (either I'm uncomfortable to talk about it or I don't want to, you have to respect that)
Heres a bit about me!:
My Emetophobia came on at the age of 10. I had a terrible stomach flu (v*miting, d*y he*ving, n*usea, etc) for hours that day. On that day, I was experiencing some anxiety around v*miting, but for the most part, I was just annoyed. I was mostly afraid of going to get a C*vid test (sorry about how much I sensor stuff, just trying to be inclusive of everyone!) and while I would get that C*vid test that I would v*mit. I did not, thankfully. After recovering from that stomach flu, I went on like a normal human being. However, a few weeks later in school, I experienced my first panic attack. I seriously thought I was going to v*mit on that day. I did not.
Ever since that day, I've gone on to have over 30 panic attacks, get Somatic Symptoms Disorder (A mental disorder, classified by the DSM-5 by one worrying so much about their health, weather that be worrying about a headache being cancer, or stomach pain being a stomach flu, causing one to then experience a "Somatic" (Relating to the body-Oxford Dictionary) Symptom that isn't actually real or there), and severe anxiety. My anxiety tends to prevail at school. It's caused by social anxiety.
I am also a Non-Binary person. I use They/Them pronouns. Please respect that!
