I feel like if we all stand together we can withstand the crippling blow that addiction has dealt us. ...See more Hello all, I've been a recovering alcoholic now for half a year. Initially i tried aa, and while it worked for about two weeks and i could really dig the help of a community of people who are just like me, i couldn't get behind the religious aspect of it so i quit and decided that i could do it on my own... That lasted about one week, til i downed my first drink in half a month. From there my outbursts were spastic in nature and i didn't drink everyday. I kept it semi-manageable until my father passed and after that it turned into a full blown hardcore relapse. So, once again i sought out the help of aa and stayed sober for about a month and then i left the support of aa for the same reasons i did the first time. Im posting this thread to share part of my addiction sorry and to reach out and have a community of people to help support my decision that actually understand the struggles of addiction, without having to bring religion into it. Thank you all for listening.
