I'm too scared to talk about my possible depression...

...See more I've been silently suffering, or only telling a select few friends about it, but to the mass majority of people I am just another girl. I've been suffering for a few years now, since I was around 14 (I'm 19 now). I had a psychologist back at that time, who helped me somewhat with my social anxiety. I tried mentioning depression to her before, but I chickened out, calling it "just a phase, probably" and moved along. It was painful, but because I liked her so much and she liked how much improvement I had going with my SA, I didn't want to make her think I was anything but okay. As dumb as it sounds, I didn't want to make her worry about me, I liked her too much and when I like someone, I don't want to make them worry about me. I don't know who to talk to or where to go in terms of getting a full diagnosis of it, as well as my dissociative episodes and panic attacks (although those could be coping mechanisms or something completely unrelated). I don't want to tell my parents, because they don't seem to fully grasp it, and say that there's nothing to be depressed about or to even warrant those feelings in the first place. I'm sorry this is so lengthy, but I just wanted to get this off my chest. Thank you.
