...See more Hello Friends, I’m a female approaching 50 and in just the last few months I began experiencing anxiety pretty badly. I have had multiple life stressors occur at the same time that triggered the anxiety, however, typically I can manage well. This time it has just gotten worse and my doctor just put me on a medication. She told me a lot of women experience this. I feel like this anxiety I have, whom I’ve named Daegga, as a way to separate it from myself is a beast. Unrelenting and the worry thoughts just loop on top of insomnia. I have days that are a little better then days where it’s bad. Today is a bad day. It’s like taking a step forward then two or three back. So exhausting! I have increased my support system, reached out to family and friends letting them know I’m struggling, started meditating, journaling, and reading Buddhist teachings as a way to ground. I just started the med so not sure if it will help or not. My doctor is doing bloodwork and is sending me to cardiology just to make sure things are ok medically. Anxiety just plain sucks and I’m trained in behavioral health and it’s still extremely hard. I feel like the old me from even a few months ago is gone and I’m not myself. I miss her!
