Hi!
I’m glad you’re here.

I’m Charlie and I’m 21 years old.

I’m disabled, a secondary caregiver, and trans. I’m also a survivor of trauma.

For personal reasons, I won’t be on much, but feel free to message me whenever and I’ll answer as soon as I’m able!

I’m not currently taking any live chats, preferring to give back to the Community in other ways.

I’ll leave you with three short and sweet poems:

The first one, to empower:

(Start)

“Listen to the Mustn’ts, child,

Listen to the Don’ts

Listen to the Shouldn’ts, the Impossibles, the Won’ts

Listen to the Never Haves-

Then listen close to me:

Anything can happen, child,

Anything can Be”

(End)

The second one, a reminder to look inside:

(Start)

”There is a voice inside of you

That whispers all day long

’I feel that this is right for me,

I know that this is wrong.’

No preacher, teacher, parent, friend

Or wise man can decide

What’s right for you- just listen to

The voice that speaks inside”

(End)

The third one, because I want you to know You Are Seen:

(Start)

”There’s a light on in the attic,

Though the house is dark and shuttered.

There’s a flickering flutter,

And I know what it’s about.

There’s a light on in the attic.

I can see it from the outside...

And I know you’re on the inside, looking out.”

(End)

Thank you for being here.

Final Notes:

The poems are all by Shel Silverstein, who writes poems for children that often resonate in the heart of the adults too.

Remember they are all metaphorical- they are not to be taken for their literal meaning but rather for the ideas and feeling they ignite: feelings of empowerment, freedom; as well as the ideas that it’s only us who know what’s best for ourselves (even if sometimes we need help to find that reserve of inner knowledge) and, most important of all, that we are not alone.

You’re not alone.
