...See more I’m aware this is a feeling, that it’s a mindset I have the power to change. But I can’t seem to find that power. I’m in an emotional slump, the negative self talk is so strong I feel convinced by it.

...See more Im 27 years old and was emotionally sheltered from my families problems up until the age of 24. My brother (father of 3) is a recovered alcoholic, who tried to take his life multiple times. my mum and dad supported him and nursed him through rehab and AA meetings which he successfully goes to every week now. After my brother found himself again and remains sober, my mother has fallen into a deep dark hole of alcoholism which had been progressively getting worse over the years. She drinks 20 - 30 standard drinks each day and my dad is in complete denial. I feel helpless, if I talk to my mum about her problem she will cut me out of her life and Im almost certain it will make her drinking worse... other wise I say nothing and just continue to love her and be there for her until she hits rock bottom. Im sure she knows she has a problem, but what she doesnt know its how badly its impacting everyone that loves her. Has anyone been in circumstance?
