Hello! My name is Citta. I work for a charity, having finished my masters in health care law. I have previously had experiences as a storyteller for children with cancer and as an assistant teacher. I'm a determined dreamer, a firm believer in kindness, and I aim to develop my career in the field of health care law.

I've personally dealt with my anxiety, depression and chronic illnesses. For years I hid my voice until one day I found a safe space to talk and started to live peacefully. I benefited a lot from therapy -- I love learning about feelings, emotions, and the insights of the human mind. I understand how hard it can be to live with difficult feelings and I believe that it's nice to be kind and compassionate to one another. Through 7Cups, I feel appreciated and honoured to listen to your stories. By sharing, we both learn and grow positively together, hopefully.

If I'm online, then please feel free to start a chat, anytime you feel ready and I'll listen to you. If I'm offline, then send me a message and we can set up a time to connect over a cup of tea (it's true - I always drink tea). I am so grateful that you come across this helpful site.

Have a lovely day!

Tidying up!
OCD & Related Behaviors / by Citta

...See more Hi everyone! (I'm not sure if there's a specific section for this, so forgive me if I make a mistake). I came across this article a few weeks ago about the life-changing magic of tidying up: Link [http://www.today.com/home/life-changing-magic-tidying-testing-marie-kondos-method-t21356]! I've always been a hoarder -- my room was always a mess! I'm pretty sure it had something to do with my depression but I always managed to clean it up every few weeks or when I had someone come over -- so it never was a total mess but I never managed to keep it clean for more than a week. Sometimes I just left out my dirty laundry on the floor or I would have dirty plates for a week. Despite having been seeing a therapist for more than three years, I never really took concerns of this habit until a few weeks ago, I went to my new counsellor whom I have only been seeing for several months and he complimented me on my outfit. As a reply, I said: "Haha, just because I don't have anything else to put on!" What he said next changed my life: "Citta, do you realise that you have previously said the same thing twice? I know you like to buy and have lots of clothes, so how can you run out of clothes for several times since I met you?"  Only then I realised that this habit of mine has become very unhealthy and I had to do something about it. I talked to my counsellor in a session that, as psychologist Rob Yeung recommends about change that we should just try to change little things first, so I said to him that cleaning up is on my goal lists.  Then I came across the article I posted above and I was taken away by the concept of "Pick up each item one at a time and ask yourself, "Does it spark joy?". If it doesn't make you happy, just throw it away. The very next day I sorted all the mess in my room and I managed to throw away, don't be surprised, SEVEN TRASH BAGS filled with plastics and things and bottles and everything. I have a huge bedroom and lots of stuff so never I would realise I would throw away so much. I then buy lots of colourful boxes and put little things and stuff inside and ta-daa.... my room was sparkly clean!  Since then, every time I buy something I asked myself first if it sparks joy. I spent lots of poundsterlings to buy boxes and trash cans and cleaning stuff but I knew that it was for the best. It's been weeks and my room has been sparkly clean (still). I'm so proud of it. And it definitely brings much more joy to myself and helps with my depression.  I don't know how many of you would have the same problems as I had, but I hope I can share something very important to those who can relate -- tidying up can be a life-changing magic.
I Have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, AMA.

...See more Hi, lovely people, this is Citta! So last week I made an AMA forum post [https://www.7cups.com/forum/ListenersOnlyForums_38/AMA_117/IHavePreMenstrualDysphoricDisorderAMA_4472/] on Premenstual Dysphoric Dysorder (PMDD). This week I'm going to post an AMA on Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS). I have heard from several listeners here on the site that they have been diagnosed with PCOS so that I'm wondering if you need more information or support or just someone to talk about this. I'm not a doctor, though. The scientific medical information I'll provide below would be from trustworthy resources, for instance NHS UK [http://www.nhs.uk/conditions/Polycystic-ovarian-syndrome/Pages/Introduction.aspx]. PCOS is a condition that affect woman's ovaries. Polycystic ovaries have a number of harmless cysts, which have underdeveloped sacs that often unable to release an egg, thus results in no ovulation. This condition is also associated with abnormal hormone levels in the body. Some of the symptoms that are apparent in PCOS (I do have most of these): irregular periods (dysmenorrhea), difficulty getting pregnant, excessive hair growth, weight gain/being overweight, acne, and emotional problems such as depression. This is also associated with insulin resistance, type 2 diabetes, and high cholesterol levels. The exact cause of PCOS is unknown, but it's related to abnormal hormone levels (hormone imbalance), resistance to insulin, and genetics. There's no cure for PCOS, but there are treatments for the symptoms, for instance through changes of lifestyles and medications. If you ask me if I would like to have a life without PCOS, of course I'd say I would. PCOS is hard and requires a lot of patience, regular check ups, treatments, with excessive costs and doctors visits. However, without PCOS I wouldn't have learned the first thing about the importance of healthy lifestyles and truly, truly understand and experience it. I wouldn't have learned about empathy for people who are ill, and relating to the image of myself, with my weight gain and everything, I learn to respect myself and be grateful about my weight. I was once ran to the ER during high school for exercising too much to lose weight despite being too skinny. After PCOS, I've gained 35 pounds yet happy with healthy BMI and importantly, healthy perspective about who I am and feel beauty. It's been 5-6 years since I got diagnosed. I've been consuming oral medications such as birth control pills, metformin for my insulin resistance, and statin for the cholesterol levels. It's been tough and hard because it gets annoying and bothering sometimes, but I normally function well and I have awesome doctors and full coverage of health insurance so I have lots of things to be grateful for :) Do ask me anything :) Oh, I'm no doctor so I can't give you professional opinions LOL, but I'm trying to do more research and research so I hope I can provide you with answers :)
Exercise in Empathy

...See more Hi everyone, I don't know if someone has ever posted this video before, but here we go: LINK [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yL9UJVtgPZY]. It's a video when CNN's Anderson Cooper tried to go through a normal day using a schizophrenia simulator. He called this an exercise in empathy, to feel what it's like to live with schizophrenia. He used headphones and listened to recorded voices and while he used it, he tried to do a series of tests and got through a normal day, which he found incredibly difficult, depressing, and negative. "It makes you feel completely isolated from everyone else around you,” that's what he said. "It's eye-opening because it shows you what other people must be going through who have to deal with this on a regular basis."

I absolutely love talking with Citta. I have recently gotten in to the bible and I think she is an angel sent down from heaven to help everyone. You have to check it out. You won't be sorry.
I love talking with Citta. She made me see the logic in all stuff that was upsetting to me. Instead of it being bunched up in a knot...she helped me take it apart so that I felt no tension.

I talk with her a lot. I won't stop talking either. She has a way of making sure that I don't stop. She is great.
