Will I really be happier if I accept this?

...See more Hi, I am new here since just a few days ago... I just read today's message on acceptance. I understand accepting what we cannot change, but I struggle with accepting what could change. I am so unhappy where I am (financially, relationally, physically etc.), but for this post, let's focus on geographically. I begged my husband to move to a warmer climate with more sun for years but he said no. I left him after 15 years and am now divorcing him (another long traumatic story). Almost three years later and the divorce is still not final (I am still not getting child support or a settlement), and I am stuck in this cold boring town with sad memories and NO sunshine. I will not be able to move for at least six more years until my youngest graduates, and I struggle every single day to accept that. Not to mention all of the other problems that my divorce and being unemployed for the last eight months have brought. I cry so much. I am barely hanging on for my kids, feel like a loser and like it just getting too hard. I am not a young mom... so it's not like in six years, I will be able to start over in my dream location. I feel like my life was wasted with my ex and is still just passing me by. I love my boys and am trying to give them a good life, but it seems impossible. I found this site while crying and chatting with ChatGPT because I have no one. My parents are gone. 😢 I am so alone in this. Any advice or support would be welcome. Anyone want to start chatting? What is the best way to get the most out of this site besides therapy?
