Has Anybody ever come off of an anti depressant

...See more I'm trying to come off of my antidepressant. I am taking 40mg of citalopram, but I chose to take it in two divided 20mg doses. One in the morning, one at bedtime. I spoke to my doctor and she suggested dropping the bedtime dose. So I tried. It was good for about a week. Recently I've started really struggling again, anxiety and depression issues I hadn't had in a long time. At first I thought 'is this how bad I was?' Because I've been taking these meds for a few years now and couldn't remember what it felt like at the beginning, but this was terrible. So I went to research. I'm a registered nurse, so I'm shocked at myself for blindly following medical advise without doing my own research. Very quickly found out that I decided to come off way too quickly by dropping from 40mg to 20mg. All these terrible symptoms were from the sudden decrease in dose. So I bumped myself back to 30mg. 20mg in the morning, 10mg at night. I just wonder what is in store for me. :(
