How do I let the anger go?

...See more Monday I was supposed to see my girlfriend when she got off work, she said she was tired and wanted to just go to bed so I shouldn't bother coming over. The next morning I get a phone call from her where she says she so sorry but she cheated on me with a guy from work, she said it was a mistake and it will never happen again. The remorse I saw in her made me want to believe her, I want to trust her because I love her without any doubt in my mind. I want this to work out but I can't stop being angry, any second my mind isn't occupied it flicks to that night. Where were they hanging out at before they had sex? Did she just invite him into her bedroom or did he start it? Why did she invite him over and tell me not to come? Was I not enough for her? What if the sex with him had been better? Would she have told me or just kept it up behind my back? These thoughts pummel me every moment of every day and I can't stop them or change the emotion I feel about them. How do I let go of the anger and hurt so that we can heal together..... Is that even an option.......

...See more Recently I had a break up with the first girl I have dated in nearly 4 years, since me and my ex-fiance split. The only problem is mentally I know that the relationship was not healthy, nor was it even going all that well. We didn't talk very often, I tried to engage her in conversation and typically got replies hours later, no physical contact, just a clear indication she was unhappy. The break up occured after I broached the subject of trying to repair what we had clearly lost. Over the course of the conversation she reassured me that she was interested in me and that I had done nothing wrong but that she was in a dark place and just couldn't seem to shake it and was thinking about getting counseling for it, which I agreed it would be a great idea, she then said she just didn't feel like she could be in a relationship right now. I wanted to be understanding so I told her that if she wanted to step back into being friends again so that she wouldn't have to feel the pressure while trying to get herself back to where she wanted. This was indeed what she wanted I was told and that was the end of the conversation, it's been 3 days and I'm missing her like crazy but I don't know what I should do to support her the most right now, just wait until she contacts me, which given the way our relationship went she won't and I'll be left sitting here just as depressed, or should I reach out and try to plan friendly group outtings with her other friends? Thoughts?
