Need Advice on Commissions

...See more Not sure where else to ask this because I haven't gotten a single response. I don't know what I'm good at. That's always been a problem. I've been debating for a long time, what I can do for commissions. I'm not satisfied with anything I've created so far, with a few exceptions. I'll list some best and okay things of each. (Edited by Forum Mentor @Mel to remove social media handles. Music can take 1 day to even a week to make. And it'll still suck. I can learn songs quite easily, putting them in a high quality GP5 format, with slides, harmonics, etc. And it takes anywhere from a few hours to a couple days, depending on the song complexity. Character art is very hit or miss. I can and can't draw. It varies. I can't draw portions properly, I don't know if it's a disability I have? Considering I've been attempting handwriting for 17+ years, and still write like a three year old, I don't think it is possible to draw. Takes a few days to make sometimes, and that could be the character alone. Backgrounds however are quite easier because they're not precise. But, given the first drawing there, my latest, it is possible to make an image I can be proud of, because I really liked that one. Took over two weeks, though not of drawing. Just things kept coming up I had to deal with. It turned out well overall. - That's where I now ask for your opinion. Other than needing a simplification of the payment system, what commission path should I pursue? I don't have any confidence in either besides the learning songs. But the learning songs one would most definitely not get any revenue, and the prices will be really subjective, we're talking, a DragonForce tab for example, perhaps costing £30 to make, because holy crap, it is so difficult. Or, and this is something I came up with today. What if I trace low quality backgrounds and upscale them to 4-8K resolution? It's an idea I had for a while, it will cost a bit. £10-80 depending on the background type. I know AI up-scaling is a thing, but it isn't capable of making a 360p resolution image, into an 8K Image, where as human perception is. On top of that, I would offer things as defaults and addons. Default: Layering of each prop, details ingrained on the layer, groupings, providing the base file to the commissioner, 4K image always, soft brush to avoid bumpy looking textures. Addons: Filling in gaps for a little extra (Meaning I would draw behind the trees of an image for example, to fill in that area), repeating clouds cycle for animation but not ANIMATED. For character removal or adding, it will cost extra. I need some opinions, it will be greatly appreciated. I'm trying to earn some money to get a new PC to do more of this, and future proof. My current PC is definitely dying and not suitable for much nower days, CPU is slow and overheating, the RAM won't clock over 1200mhz for some reason. And the Video Card is heavily outdated for gaming and even to an extent photoshop. I'm just about able to do 8K images, which also may be an upcharge because it takes so long to work on, and gets so laggy. I'll still going to have to make an example image for the upscaled background drawing. I see a lot of character commissions nower days, and have huge doubts about being able to draw like that, let alone stand out from the rest. Backgrounds seem a lot easier and a lot different.
