Bio
Hello! I'm glad you've found me on 7 Cups of Tea. I'm a trained active listener and I like to support people struggling with anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, trauma/assault, LGBTQA+ problems, spiritual crises, ethics, existential crises, and general psychological, drug/alcohol, and philosophical problems. I am also an active advocate for Autism Spectrum Disorders and have years of work and service to benefit people and families affected by ASD, as it is an issue very close to my heart. I enjoy playing video games, cartoons, art, music, mathematics, philosophy, theology, statistics. I've dealt with c-ptsd, mdd, adhd, panic disorder, seasonal affect disorder, anxiety disorders, suicide, and mourning and would like to help by listening to you. If I'm online, then please feel free to start a chat. If I'm offline, then send me a message and we can set up a time to connect. Glad you are here!
My personal creed:
1) No two items in this creed may conflict with one another. If they do, I will apologize and resign by referring you to another listener.
2) Your well-being is my first priority
3) Your comfort in the chat and with personal boundaries is my second priority
4) You have my full and undivided attention when I am talking to you. I accept one listening session at a time, and you are my total focus during the entirety of the conversation.
5) I will strive to delve as deep as I can, to see what's at the core of your problems, concerns, or other turmoils.
6) I will never ask for or divulge any personal information, except when knowledge of sex, age, or gender is vital for providing context in your specific situation.
7) If I lack the expertise in a certain area such as to meet your needs, I will not overextend myself, but refer you to another active listener that can help you.
8) You may disconnect whenever, if you disconnect and then immediately queue in a way that seems accidental, I will check to see if you meant to disconnect, so as not to lose any momentum.
9) I will not disconnect from the chat unless I do not receive response a) within 3 minutes of initial connect b) within 5 minutes to my inquiry if you are still present c) the conversation is mutually agreed to have concluded d) my internet service is disrupted
10) I will not forget you or our conversation.
11) I will exhaust every resource available to me whenever necessary.
12) I will try my absolute best to help you, always.
I do accept payment, but I do not expect payment. Payment does, however, let me be online here more often. If my payments become steady enough, I will be able to do this as a part-, possibly full-, time job, but that's in the far future.
I have had therapies and treatments for C-PTSD, MDD, Panic Disorder, anxiety disorders, relationships, family, communication, attempted suicide, addiction , and grief. I am not a doctor, but I've picked up a few tidbits by being around the block a couple times that aren't available on this site's standard training.
I am male, though I don't agree with and identify completely with the concept associated with male.
I am 20 years of age and am in-and-out of university as I work on my own issues.
I am a member of the LGBTQA+ community, though my specific sexuality isn't relevant here.
I am a feminist and a strong advocate for equity for all.
I am a survivor of rape and an advocate for fellow victims against constructs such as rape culture.
Select quotes:
"We do not believe in ourselves until someone reveals that deep inside us something is valuable, worth listening to, worthy of our trust, sacred to our touch. Once we believe in ourselves we can risk curiosity, wonder, spontaneous delight or any experience that reveals the human spirit."
— E.E. Cummings
“Those who are not looking for happiness are the most likely to find it, because those who are searching forget that the surest way to be happy is to seek happiness for others.”
― Reverend Doctor Martin Luther King Jr.
"Rape is one of the most terrible crimes on earth and it happens every few minutes. The problem with groups who deal with rape is that they try to educate women about how to defend themselves. What really needs to be done is teaching men not to rape. Go to the source and start there."
— Kurt Cobain
