Hello, my name is Eli (pronounced Ellie) and I am an American woman who is a trained verified active listener. My educational background is in Sociology and I am employed as a mental health and wellness social worker. I have a passion for mental health awareness and care. My experience is with assisting those coping with and surviving a myriad of issues such as depression, anxiety, interpersonal conflict, family crisis, developmental disabilities, domestic violence, sexual assault, physical abuse,  self-esteem issues, self-harm, management of emotions, job stress, mental health struggles, relationship/marriage issues, loss, and grief. My intentions are to be caring, sensitive, empathetic, and always working to create a comfortable atmosphere for our members and guests who are seriously seeking an affable, verified active listener.

UNSCHEDULED CHAT SESSIONS FOR GUESTS AND MEMBERS VIA CHAT REQUEST LINE: 

I provide 30-minute unscheduled chat sessions to our members and guests here on 7 Cups through the Chat Request line. When I enter the chat, after offering a short greeting and explanation, I will wait for your response. If I receive no message after five minutes of my initial greeting, I will close the chat so that I can move along and assist another member or guest.  However, during an active session, I do not leave chats abruptly (with the exception of connection issues which is extremely rare). In most cases, I will make every effort to make sure that our session will have an appropriate ending as a few minutes over the allotted time is absolutely fine. I will politely let you know when the time is close to ending to prepare you to think about your closing remarks. However, If you need a significant amount of time beyond 30 minutes of unscheduled chatting then I will gladly assist you in finding another trained listener after our session. I am also happy to direct you to resources that you can utilize on your own that might be helpful to you.

SCHEDULED CHATS FOR 7 CUP MEMBERS: 

I also provide 60-minute scheduled chat sessions by appointment only to adult members of 7 Cups who are 18 years of age or older.  My time zone is USA eastern standard time. To make an appointment with me please feel free to send me a message requesting a day and time. You can use this link to assist you with figuring out the time conversion:

I will respond to your message in a timely fashion so that we can coordinate a day and time that works best. Keep in mind that for scheduled chat sessions, I do not go beyond 60 minutes (one hour). I will politely offer a reminder when our time is coming to an end and you can always schedule another day and time to connect with me for another session.

In the event that you cannot make your scheduled appointment or will be late please message me to let me know ahead of time. I wait for 10 minutes before I close out the chat for a no-show. Then you will need to reschedule. All sessions with me will remain absolutely confidential and there will be no judgments or criticisms. My interest is in giving you an opportunity to express yourself in a way that makes you feel at ease and supported.

I am dedicated to providing emotional support and comfort to those in need through careful active listening and empathetic dialogue.
